The Role
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role will involve managing all aspects of cost control on a variety of projects, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
The role will see circa 3-4 days visiting sites with the other 1-2 days in the week, from the office base in South Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage two sites concurrently, with all project costs from inception to completion, ensuring budgets are met.
- Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and procurement strategies.
- Assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements.
- Monitor project variations and assess cost implications.
- Prepare valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure cost control and value engineering.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to cost and contract management.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
About You:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software.
- A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB) preferred.
